Rajasthan from Indore – The Classic Indian Journey
Rajasthan is India’s most celebrated tourist destination — and from Indore, it is perfectly accessible. Jaipur is just 580 km away. Udaipur — often considered India’s most romantic city — is only 400 km from Indore. This proximity makes Rajasthan the most popular extended holiday destination for Indore-based travellers.
MP Vacation Indore has been designing Rajasthan tours for our Indore clients since 2013. From luxury palace hotel stays to budget group tours, we know Rajasthan as well as we know Madhya Pradesh.
Why Rajasthan is Perfect from Indore
- Udaipur is closer to Indore (400 km) than it is to Delhi (660 km) — Indore tourists often get there before Delhi tourists do
- No flights needed — comfortable road or train journey for most Rajasthan destinations
- We can combine Rajasthan with western MP destinations (Mandu, Maheshwar, Ranthambore) for a truly grand tour

Top Rajasthan Destinations
Udaipur – City of Lakes
Built around Lake Pichola in the Aravalli Hills, Udaipur is perhaps India’s most visually beautiful city. The Lake Palace hotel (now a luxury resort) appears to float on the lake’s surface. The City Palace — a complex of palaces built over 400 years — gives panoramic views of the entire lake and the Aravalli hills beyond.
Jodhpur – The Blue City
Jodhpur’s old city is painted electric blue — a tradition started by Brahmin families to denote their homes, now adopted by most of the old quarter. The Mehrangarh Fort, rising 400 feet above the blue city, is one of India’s most imposing and best-preserved fortresses. Its museum houses the finest collection of Rajput royal artefacts in the country.
Jaisalmer – The Golden City
At the edge of the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer is a city that seems to rise from the sand — made from golden-yellow sandstone, it glows at sunset. The Jaisalmer Fort is a living fort — people still live, shop, and pray inside its walls. And the desert camp experience — sleeping under a canopy of stars on a sand dune — is among the most memorable nights you can spend in India.
Jaipur – The Pink City
Rajasthan’s capital and India’s first planned city (built in 1727), Jaipur earns its ‘Pink City’ title from the terracotta-coloured paint applied to its old city buildings. The Amber Fort, 11 km from the city, is a complete royal complex built on a ridge above Maota Lake — one of India’s most-visited heritage sites.
Luxury Rajasthan Packages
For clients who want to experience Rajasthan at its finest, MP Vacation designs itineraries that include heritage palace hotels — properties that were once royal residences and are now among the most extraordinary hotels in the world. The Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur, the Umaid Bhawan in Jodhpur, and the Samode Haveli in Jaipur all feature in our luxury offerings.
