Option 1: By Road (Most Recommended)
The road from Indore to Omkareshwar is one of the most pleasant drives in western MP. The route via NH52 passes through Dewas and then takes a state highway to Omkareshwar. The road is well-maintained, signposted, and passes through scenic rural Malwa countryside.

Route: Indore → Dewas (30 km) → Sanawad → Omkareshwar (78 km total)
The road is NH52 till near Sanawad, then a well-maintained 2-lane state highway

Train is a scenic but less convenient option for visiting Omkareshwar. There is no station at Omkareshwar itself — you must get off at a nearby station and take local transport.

Reaching the Temple from the Main Road/Ghat
Omkareshwar temple is on the island of Mandhata. Once you reach the main ghat, you cross to the island by boat.

There is also a bridge (footbridge) connecting the mainland to the island — accessible on foot
From the island boat ghat, the main temple is a 500-metre walk up a stone-paved path
