Bandhavgarh – Where Tiger Sightings Are Almost Guaranteed
Bandhavgarh National Park in Umaria District, Madhya Pradesh, holds the distinction of having the highest tiger density of any national park in the world. With approximately 135–150 tigers in an area of 1,536 square kilometres, the sighting probability per safari is extraordinarily high — many first-time visitors see a tiger on their very first morning.
This is not hype. It is a function of habitat quality, prey density, and decades of dedicated conservation. Bandhavgarh is where serious wildlife photographers go when they want guaranteed results. It is also where families go when they want to witness something in the wild that they will tell their grandchildren about.

The Ancient Fort Inside the Forest
One of Bandhavgarh’s lesser-known features is the ancient hilltop fort visible from many parts of the park. The Bandhavgarh Fort dates to approximately 1st century BCE, with a massive reclining Vishnu statue carved into a rock face inside the forest. Elephant safaris used to take visitors to the fort — check with the park for current access options.
