When most Indians hear ‘Panch Kedar,’ they think of the five Shiva temples in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. But in Madhya Pradesh, there is a different Panch Kedar — a 2-day, 15–20 km forest trek through the Satpura range near Jabalpur that offers one of the most immersive wilderness experiences in Central India.
This trek covers several natural and sacred sites through remote Satpura forest, with panoramic views of the Narmada valley, ancient rock formations, and dense jungle that is home to leopards, sloth bears, and hundreds of bird species. It is the most serious multi-day trek accessible from Indore without Himalayan altitude.
